The History of The Institute

As defined by the 3rd article of Higher Education Law no 2547, institutes are functioning as higher education institutions which have post-graduate programmes in many similar nad realted branches in faculties and universities. Bingöl University is among 17 universities whose foundation was approved by the president of the republic on 28 May 2007. Bingöl University Institute of Social Sciences was established on 17.05.2007 and was approved by the president of the republic. The institute director was appointed on 26.02.2009. It functions in the building of Agriculture Faculty. Because of the new criteria Higher Education Institution introduced, our institute can not actively carry out post-graduate studies. However, together with the availability of staff and materials these programmes will be opened in such departments as Management, Sociolgy, History, Turkish Language and Literature.
The Post-graduate Education Regulations of our institute was published in official gazzette on 13 August, 2009. Graduate education, as it is expressed below, divides into master's, doctorate, medical expertise and proficiency in the art:

1) MA (Master of Science, Master of Architecture, Master): a postgraduate education based on teaching, teaching and research which aims to reveal the results.

2) PhD: a postgraduate programme which covers at least six terms of undergraduate or four terms of graduate programme and which aims to end up with an original research results.

3) Proficiency in Arts: a postgraduate programme which covers at least six terms of undergraduate or four terms of graduate programme and which aims to end up with an original peace of art and which aims to expertise in music and scene arts.
